“Many thanks to our fabulous guide Binod Dhaka, (along with his assistant guide Ganosh Devkota, and his team, Sugan, Dikbir, Bhimson and Sudip) who looked after our group of 12 on our 14 day visit to Nepal, including the 6 day Annapurna Ghorepani/Poon Hill circuit trek, visit to Chitwan National Park, whitewater rafting on the Trisuli River, and Kathmandu. From the moment we arrived at the airport and were met by Binod, to our departure two weeks later, Himalaya Social Journey's team were absolutely excellent. We felt incredibly supported, any query answered, and everything organised to an impeccably professional level. Whether we were white water rafting, exploring Pokhara, ordering breakfast lunch or dinner, or walking the 6-day trek needing advice, guidance or support, the HSJ team were wonderful. We would fully recommend this tour and this tour company. Nepal is a beautiful country, and it's people are by nature exceptionally patient and kind. We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to visit and experience for ourselves. The scenery and walk on the Ghorepani Circuit Trek was breathtaking. *Just a note though - the 6 day walk/trek is described as Level 1-2, however, it does have a lot of steps (3,341 after lunch on the first day alone!), and as you are walking from 1040m to a max of 3200m above sea level over the course of the trek, it is best to be prepared and to undertake fitness training for this. It is completely do-able, but a little bit of preparation will be worthwhile and make it all a lot more enjoyable!! “Namaste, I have just competed a 14 night well organised tour of the Annapurna to Poon Hill circuit which was a 6 day trek, white water rafting, Chitwan, Pokhara & Kathmandu. This was a real challenge but also such a wonderful experience. The scenery was unbelievable - rain forest, waterfalls, Rhino's and Elephants - these memories will stay forever. The tour was extremely well organised and our guide Binod was so helpful - nothing was too difficult and he looked after us all the way. He made sure everyone was catered for and his offsider Ganesh was also fantastic and his knowledge of fauna and flora is amazing.. The porters – Sutan, Dikbir, Bhimsen & Subip were all amazing not just for carrying our heavy bags but they were always looking out for us on the way and making sure we were OK. We had such a wonderful group who all got on so well. Every night we sat together and had many laughs and I’m sure we will all keep in touch as this was such a memorable experience that I would recommend it to anyone. Over all my years of travel this was certainly a trip that will always be remembered.”

“What an amazing holiday we have just had. A wonderful trek through the beautiful Annapurna Ghorephani area. Our two guides Pradip Tamang and Binod Gharti looked after us and created an awesome sense of family among our group. From the white water rafting to the safari park, trekking for 7 nights through the beautiful mountains and a couple of relax days in Pokhara. The porters were amazing also. Himalayan Social Journey are a fantastic company to deal with. Their service was amazing. I would highly recommend them to anyone who may be looking to organise a trek”

“Ours was a group of 4 women aged around 60. This was definitely an adventure for us. Our guide Ram and 2 porters, Dill and Santa were just wonderful. After getting a short dose of gastro...and then getting a rotten cold...I realised near the end of the first day I was not going to be able to do this trek. It was incredible tough and I felt so weak... Ram(our guide) was just so caring and compassionate...he organised a horse each day...so I could complete the trek. My 3 girlfriends were made of stronger stuff than me and completed the whole trek on foot.....a very serious challenge. We saw the most beautiful scenery and gorgeous people. People who do it so tough and have so little but are so happy!!!! I did the helicopter flight to Annapurna Base Camp(an extra option)...and strongly recommend it.....just spectacular!!!!! And when you finish in Pokhara...the paragliding above this beautiful city is a must ! There is no need to take extra food etc (as people told us to do) The food in the mountains is plentiful and delicious!!!!! I have cravings for their garlic soup and momos !!!! Our guide ,Ram, was also an excellent chef and cooked us the best momos on the whole trip and I have been told his Garlic Soup is on of the best!!!! So.....an amazing and unforgettable adventure.....Thank you Ram 😊”

Bini, Gun & the boys were so encouraging when things got tough - we were exceptionally well looked after. It was a true Himalayan Social Journey - we trekked, we shared stories, we learnt a lot about Nepal & the beautiful mountains, we danced & we shared meals together. “I did this beautiful trekking with other 3 friends. The walk started in Birethanti and go up in some amazings villages and valleys. Expecially from Poon hill there is a incredible view of Annapurna range. Our guide, Shishir Tamang, was very funny and at the end of the trek he became one of us. He was available and competent for all mountains information, we raccomanded at all of you and for the next trekking we probably contact him for a more difficult walking.”

“Our trip to Nepal was amazing. Our package with HSJ included some time in Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara as well as 6 days days of trekking and we just fell in love with all aspects of Nepal ( with the exception of street dogs, lack of recycling and pollution in Kathmandu) more and more as the trip progressed. Nepal offers incredible scenery, history, culture, food and more. The people were just so happy everywhere we went and we especially loved their sense of fun and joy - the singing and dancing that accompanies everyday activities and the sense of camaraderie amongst the trekking guides and sherpas. The package with HSJ offered great value and a variety of experiences, from cultural tours, dance performances and forest walks as well as the trek itself. All guides and sherpas were extremely helpful, reassuring , informative and just fun to be around. We were also really impressed with their command of English. Special mention goes to Shankar and Prakash on the trek and Dilip, our driver in Kathmandu. We have the greatest memories of our trip and would definitely recommend HSJ and Nepal as a holiday destination. We hope to go back sometime in the future!”

“My daughter and I have just finished the 16 day Annapurna circuit trek. I have never written a review before, good or bad, but have had such an amazing experience with this wonderful company I felt compelled to do so. From the moment we booked we have had great communication and never had to worry about a single detail. The himalayan suite hotel is amazing and located a short walk to the Tamal tourist area where you can grab anything you might have forgotten or need. Today we found the sauna, steam room and spa and just had the best massage i have had for a long time. A big shout out to all the staff from the lovely boy in the spa area to the young lady serving us in the restaurant. A big thankyou to our guide Shankar (you can ask for him specifically) who looked after us so well and always made sure we were ok. The porters Parkash and Khrisna were amazing also. Please don't hesitate to book with this company and support the locals.”

“The Annapurna circuit trek was a 12 days experience guided by a local and expert guide Ganesh, who has walked these mountains many times, which give you a sense of confidence and safety. Also out of his love for his job Ganesh is always attentive to any detail around you in order to you to be confortable and safe. The way the daily distances has been scheduled made them very workable, with even time to spend around the different and beautiful villages where you are going to sleep over. Mention apart for the overwhelming beauty of the scenery along the Annapurna circuit; no wonder why it is considered one of the most beautiful trekking s in the world. Snow peaks, waterfalls, valleys , rivers fill up your heart with beauty and gratitude. Immensely thankful to the Himalayan team who always were calling in order to check everything were going good. “what made me do it- Well it was my first Himalayan trek to one of the highest peaks also the altitude, Though this came up in my mind while watching Everest movie in Netflix which made me wanted to test my limits and also from long time I wanted to test my body limits too. About the Himalayan social journey partner- being new to the country Nepal, i see people were very friendly almost most of them speaks English mostly the local vendors. The porters, the guides and trek leader each and every person were very humble throughout the whole journey, looking towards every service offering every possible thing they can. special mentions to - Roshni kathiwada and Vishal who supported me in the difficult time while trekking being there for me where my body was giving up Ganesh the trek leader for looking the necessary needs and being humble The journey - It was tough for me , everyday after reaching stay point was an accomplishment I enjoyed each and every moment of the steps that i have placed the waterfalls, the wildlife and finally the Annapurna base camp which had one of the fantastic views i have ever seen in my life. The hilly area were the profound things that i like very much At the end meeting new people every day and listening to them was a good thing in this trek. The food- The 2nd day when i ate daal bhaat i found it very delicious and from that day i have eaten different styles of that dish and i liked it very much also being nutritious. The stay of hotel was also good spacious room were there. At the end a best time of this 2023 year and to end it.”

“Mind Blowing Annapurna Kora Trek Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the best top 10 trekking destination of the world. Entire Annapurna Circuit Trek is amazing and mind blowing. Day by day , nature suprise us with new vegetation, culture, village and scenery. The view of Annapurna makes us speechless. On reaching Manang, we feel like we are in Sangri La one of the hidden valley of the world. The culture, food and the warm hospitality amalgamation with local authentic culture is unbelievable. Above Manang the thin air and the exotic and erotic location in nature gives us peace and makes us free from world"s hectic rat race. On reaching Yak Kharka and Thorang La Phedi, the breathness we take compel to feel how lucky we are. After Thorang La Pass, the sacred and spiritual Muktinath Temple makes us feel pure and enlightened to some degree.”

“During my trek to Annapurna Base Camp, our guide stood out in the most unexpected and heartwarming ways. He wasn’t just leading us through rocky trails and snow-laced paths — he was quietly looking out for everyone. He’d carry people’s bags without being asked, offer his hand when the ground got tricky, and somehow always knew when someone needed a break or a word of encouragement. There was something so effortlessly kind about him, like he wasn’t trying to impress anyone — he just cared. I don’t know, he was just… really nice. “On our trek, we met the guide (Tikaram). He was accompanying a very nice Indian family in three generations were doing the trek. The oldest member of the family was 80 years old! An incredible achievement. I'm writing this review because we found Tikaram to be a truly amazingly kind and helpful guide. I highly recommend booking this guide for your trek. He had an answer for every situation, and his team (Sagar and Prajol) both porters, were both really lovely young people who always made us laugh. All in all, a great team!”

“I came across HSJ through Groupon Indonesia and contacted them directly since my trip schedule was slightly shorter than the promo. I ended up getting a very good price for a tailor-made program for our short stay in Nepal. Communication with Ram, the owner, prior to our arrival was very smooth with super quick replies. He also agreed to book us at the hotel we wanted in Kathmandu and his choice of hotel in Pokhara was also good. He proposed several ideas during our stay and gave a good price (for example on mountain flight). His staffs were professional and friendly; private cars were comfortable enough for the long drive (but the driver was always super careful! I felt safe all the time on the road). At the end of our stay we felt more like a family than just guest. Thanks for making our first trip to Nepal memorable, Ram! Looking forward to coming again to Nepal soon!”
