“the view of the mountains was overwhelming. I would recommend it to anyone. I would like to make the flight again”
“We flew with Budda Air, I booked online from Australia and everything went without a hitch. The flight was somewhat delayed due to cloudy weather, but once it cleared we are off and the flight was spectacular; everybody gets a window seat,it didn’t matter if you sat on the left-hand or the right hand side of the plane the views were spectacular. They even take passengers into the captains cabin so you can really get a birds eye view of the Himalayas. Highly recommended”
“There's no guarantee the flight is a go due to the weather up at Everest, but it's worth a try. Get seats as far up front as possible. Or at least be on the right side, seat D. You will see Everest on the return when the plane turns around. But, you will be the first ones to go into the cockpit. Seat A side went into the cockpit on the return. I'm not sure if everyone got in because Everest is soon out of sight. The plane is fairly good size, complete with a restroom and two flight attendants. On the return, they were selling Everest tee-shirts for $10. Unlike another review, we didn't get champagne :(”
“There are several airlines that make this trip, apart from the website you can buy it at any travel agency in Kathmandu and the prices are similar. They're gonna pick you up early at your hotel headed for Trivuvan Airport, there's only one. The arrival is somewhat chaotic... since the terminal doors are closed and there is no one to ask. In a while they open the doors and begin to enter the building. Everyone goes through security and then looks for your counter just like at any airport. The journey takes about an hour.. 50 minutes of flight time, usually delayed by weather conditions, but in my case it was less than an hour, depends on the time of year. They are all turboprop aircraft, obviously all seats are window.. so you can take the photos you want..When boarding they give you a picture with the silhouette of the mountain relief where they are all identified with their names..plus all passengers can go to the cabin in turns to take photos and the flight attendant answers to each passenger any questions or queries about the mountains. At the end of the flight you are given a certificate for flying over Everest. Very good experience.”
“HSJ Team, Thank you all so much for our amazing holiday in Nepal, rafting, trekking and jungle safari from 16th to 29th November. Special thanks to our wonderful guides Binny (Binod Dhakal) and Gun (Ganesh Deukota) who kept us safe, showed us so much care and filled us with so much knowledge. Also, our strong boys, the porters, Hari, Raju, Prakesh and Prakesh. We loved your dancing! You were all so friendly and made the adventure so much fun. Thank you to Dipendra Dharel for such an informative and interesting city tour. It was a great insight into Nepalese culture. Thank you to our drivers too. HSJ really looked after us every step of the way. The staff are so knowledgeable and passionate about providing a great service to ensure that you have a wonderful experience in Nepal. We also did the Chandragiri Hill cable car trip and the mountain scenic flight, as recommended by HSJ. They were both amazing and provided great views of the Himalayan mountain ranges and Mt Everest. Nepal will be forever in our memories.”
“Came to Nepal for a wedding but wanted to squeeze in some sightseeing. Was a little unsure about this booking but so glad we decided to do it. Pick up time was confirmed ahead and our driver Dilip was on time, cheerful and thoroughly helpful. Apparently we were lucky as the previous two days flights were cancelled due to weather but ours went off without a hitch. Pictures don't do justice to what was seen in person. If you have the time and money to take a mountain flight then I cannot recommend it enough.”
“The weather was cloudless and I could see Everest perfectly. The tour is now almost complete. CA also said she looked beautiful today and was taking pictures with her phone. The view from the cockpit is also great. I was lucky.”
“Our flight with bhudda air was late to depart. We were put on a small twin prop plane and my seat was right next to the propeller obstructing my view. It didn’t really hamper me as I still got some amazing views of the Himalayas. If you’re only visiting Nepal for a short period of time it’s must do. One piece of advice is wait till you arrive to book, your hotel will probably get the flight for a better price than those quoted on trip advisor”
“Well worth the short delay at the airport due to weather conditions. The views were amazing and the staff were fantastic under trying conditions, inconsiderate passenger! To top it off there was a little champagne 🥂”
“Got a little delayed due to weather. Lovely views.expected sparkling wine, like others but not.not the end of the world. A little patchy information, but to be expected.”
“The amount which is show in trip advisor is too much something like 200% more than the actual price. I don’t who is taking the benefit of customers may be trip advisor or the tour operator. I have evidence of this.”
“The alarm rang very early, because at 5:30 in the morning the driver is waiting for one. Once at the airport, you will receive your ticket to a breathtaking flight. Don't worry, everyone will see the natural spectacle. A moment of awe! All passengers have a window seat...I favor the “right” side...don’t misunderstand. First you can see the mountain range on the left...everything is supported by the windows, while on the other side you experience equally great impressions, especially since you are allowed into the cockpit first, which takes your breath away. Then the plane turns and you get your “heart moments” in peace! Incredibly great!”
“Get your camera ready as you will have limited time in the cockpit. Depending on weather it will determine your experience try to plan ahead as best you can on which day it will be most likely sunny. I went on shree airlines awesome. I highly recommend doing atleast once.”
“We took the Everest scenic flight with Yeti Airlines on 5 December. It was absolutely fantastic. Everyone had a window seat. We flew alongside the mountains and then back again giving everyone the opportunity to take the most amazing photos. Each traveller was invited into the cockpit to view Everest and to top it all off, we each had a glass of champagne. A truly wonderful experience.”
“Life is difficult and truly worth a trip to jump beautiful and mysterious first peak, about 50 minutes of flight to the air in the wind and sunshine, sunny morning flight, enjoy the magnificent view of the peak connected”
“An indescribable and beautiful experience.simply dreamlike.it is highly recommended to make this trip.you can see the mountains very close and the view of Achtausender are amazing.”
“The flight was about 1 hour and flew along the Himalayas to Everest. I was disappointed that it didn't circle Everest but everyone got a window seat and an opportunity to see the mountains from the cockpit.”
“Thanks again to Aasra Eco Treks and Mingma Sherpa for facilitating me going on this amazing flight. I went alone and Mingma and his company Aasra Eco treks arranged transport for me from the hotel in Katmandu and back again, it was seamlessly organised and I felt very safe and well looked after as a lone female traveller. The flight is approx 40 minutes in duration and depending on which side of the plane you are sitting, you see Everest on the way out or the way back, it is breathtaking. The air hostess was very helpful and knowledgeable in explaining which mountain was which. Beware other tourists who having seen it going out on their side of the plane, then hijack the seat next to you on the way back, put their arms round your neck and block the plane window completely with an iPhone!!! Unbelievable but it did happen to me twice!! I was speechless. You also get to go in the cock pit on this flight which is cool. Thanks again to Aasra Eco Treks and Mingma Sherpa for outstanding customer service”
“They say that fog often prevents them from flying. We had been waiting for an hour that day. It's early morning and it's cold. It flies along the Himalayas and doesn't stop very close to Everest. It looks good enough, but it doesn't feel close. The photos don't look pretty either. If you come to the Himalayas, I recommend you to experience it.”
“Since you're in Nepal and Kathmandu, I believe it's a necessary a visit even by air to the Himalayan mountain range, or Yeti Airlines impeccable and polite helped us to have this experience and of course the help of weather phenomena since several times flights are cancelled due to fog and poor visibility, all the peaks on the plate and the relief of the Himalayas of course the pyramidal peak of Mount Everest of 8.848 meters is the sought after and the most popular for its viewing!”
“I flew on my 50th birthday, had champagne and beautiful clear skies, would recommend for people who can't climb it, got some pictures of a lifetime”
“We caught the early morning flight from Katmandu and were treated to views of Mount Everest that one has to see to believe. The Captain took the aircraft in both direction past Everest so all passengers would get a magnificent view of the mountain. The highlight was being invited onto the flight deck to get even better views of Mount Everest. This was strip that will never be forgotten.”
“We had a wonderful experience with Himalayan Social Journey. They were extremely helpful in helping us organize our visit and visas for Nepal. Our wonderful driver Dilip was waiting for us at the airport upon arrival to bring us to the accommodations they had organized for us. We did a lovely day tour of Kathmandu and enjoyed our tour guide Dip very much. The Everest plane tour was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Every part of our journey was seamless and pleasant thanks to Himalayan Social Journey and their wonderful employees. They were even kind enough to organize a covid test for us after the tour before our return home. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home. Nepal is truly a unique and wonderful country and their hospitality was touching. We can not wait to return for another tour.”
“I arrived in Kathmandu without an exact plan! The “Everest sightseeing flight” was the only picture I had in mind for which I contacted various agencies. Unfortunately, I did not get a proper response from any. While browsing for more details, I noticed a review of the Himalayan Social Journey. Mr. Rameswar, the Manager of the Company, contacted me and was totally helpful in planning my Kathmandu days. The whole trip was memorable and the entire credit goes to Mr. Rameswar, Dileep, Dil & the Himalayan Social Journey team members. From my experience, I would recommend “Himalayan Social Journey”, if you really wish to achieve Himalayan Satisfaction!!!”
