“I just returned from a 16 day trek to Everest Base Camp with Himalayan Social Journey. My group of 8 ladies had the most amazing trip, we all made it safely to EBC and back again. It was a real challenge managing the altitude and long days walking but our guide and sherpa looked after us extremely well. Nepal is a beautiful country with the most amazing scenery, culture and people. The sense of satisfaction in completing this trek is enormous. Thanks Himalayan Social Journey.”

“HSJ was very helpful in planning the EBC trek from end to end. We had very good guides (Bhisnu and Pasang). They were also very accommodating and helpful in arranging a trip to Pokhara after the trek as well. Suggestions for day tours (Bhaktapur) plus helpful English speaking guide was great! Overall very good experience with HSJ.”

“Climbed to EBC with 12 other trekkers and had a fantastic time. Nothing went wrong. Ganga Thapa, our main HSJ guide was exceptional. He was easy going, informative and provided great support. We had fun and laughed the whole way. Binot was also great, taking small groups on side adventures on our rest days. I loved not having to worry and leaving it to someone else to organise. It made my experience even better. It was also a nice touch that Ram Sapkota, the Managing Director check in on us multiple times to make sure everything was OK. The best food choice was Sherpa stew or Momos for lunch and then Dal Bhat/Apple pie for dinner.”

“What an incredible, fun, safe, sensational, challenging and rewarding experience it was to trek to Everest Base Camp with 7 friends. Our all female group made it safely up to EBC and back down again with no injuries and no illness. Expert guide Paban and the ever smiling Mingma Sherpa made everything on the trek simple, allowing us to walk at a steady pace, take really good care of our health and to delight in the wonders of the Himalayas. Tea house accommodation and food was good and there was even a hot shower or two available along the way. Breathtaking views and plenty of opportunity for photos. Ram and Dip made sure we were looked after pre and post trek in Kathmandu so our whole trip lacked for nothing. I can't wait to return to Nepal and trek another part of this amazing country with Himalayan Social Journey.”

“Our guides were faultless with EVERY detail. Our primary leader Mingmar and our secondary leader Binot spoilt us so we could enjoy the trek and learn more about the local cultures and traditions. Every meal we were treated like royalty, nothing was a bother and they kept us thoroughly informed. Our yak driver Kenji was most diligent and never let us down, always had our gear arriving before us in tip top condition without breakage or loss. Could not fault any of the special guidance and would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend such professional services.”

“We've just come to the end of the most amazing 16day experience of our lives. We hiked our way to Mt Everest Base Camp under the highly professional and watchful eye of Lukla local Mingmar Sherpa and his right hand man Binod. We had the most wonderful experience with Mingmar's dad, Kaji, as our trusty yak coach transporting our luggage to each stop. It was a wonderful family affair also having tea at Mingmar's sisters tea house on our return journey. The whole experience was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for Mingmar and his team. It was wonderful to see the respect and connections that Mingmar was afforded by the people that we met at each stop along the way, ensuring we always felt in the most trusted of hands. I cannot recommend Mingmar and his team more highly. They ensured our complete safety and that we enjoyed the most enjoyable trip possible. These guys are rockstars!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

I have been involved with many group tours over the years and the level of service provided by these two guides far surpasses anything previously experienced. Mingmar's father also transported our luggage on his Yaks all the way , which further enhanced our trekking experience with this company . “Simply put we had the trip of a lifetime trekking to Everest Base Camp. We were very well provided for through all aspects of the journey. Our guides MingMar Sherpa and his main man Binod were professional, extremely knowledgeable, hilarious and all we could have hoped for on our trip. “We spent 13 days trekking with Shanka and Dawa through Himalayan Social Journey, HSJ, and they were excellent. Everything worked well and they were fantastic. We had a personal group of 10 and we had a ball. An amazing experience in a beautiful country made all the better due to the great work of Dawa, Shanka and their team. We did not have to worry about anything and our days were well planned. Shanka was brilliant with his daily advice and briefings and Dawa was the "go to" man for everything else. He knew everyone on the hill and we were well looked after. I highly recommend HSJ for your Everest Trek.”

“I was part of a group of 10 that has just completed the EBC Trek with HSJ and it was an unforgettable experience. All the pre organising was done through Ram who always responded to my emails and questions very quickly and delivered on all his promises so thank you Ram. During the Trek we were well and truly looked after by our guides Shankar and Dawa, who did all they possibly could to make our trek as successful and enjoyable as it turned out. The average age of our group was 49 and due to the advise Shanker gave us we all made it to Base Camp with very few issues. “We made it!! The EBC trek was everything I expected and more. I'd like to say thank you once again to our guides Binod, Santos and Mingma for taking such good care of us. The trek was challenging but their support and encouragement along the way kept us all in good spirits. Be sure to bring adequate supplies and gear - most of which are available in Kathmandu: Diomox, gastro stop, toilet paper, wet wipes, hand sanitiser lol not to mention lots of warm gear, a warm sleeping bag, trekking poles, comfortable shoes, chocolate, and dried fruits. Make sure to drink plenty of water and to walk slowly - yak pace :) Be careful of the yaks though - those beautiful creatures rule the trek! Well done Himalayan Social Journey! Holiday of a lifetime ;)”

“Guides absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable re EBC trek, AMS. Were attentive, caring and entertaining. Thank you Narim and Dipak, loved your work. However from HSJ arrangements perspective on return to Namche Bazaar and Gorkhana a little disappointed. At Namche the accommodation was of a lower standard when the expectation was to experience the same comforts as on on way up particularly after roughing it for a few days. Arrived at Gorkhana Kathmandu at 10am in trekking gear and badly needing shower etc to find no check in til afternoon. Seemed to tired, smelly trekkers not well planned by HSJ management. Possible arrangement for early check in???”

Stunning guiding team lead by Ganga Thapa who along with his team of assistant guide and porters looked out for all, he demonstrated outstanding knowledge of the region and showed a high level of skill and knowledge dealing with the well being of the team. “We have recently completed a 16-day Everest Base Camp trek with Himalayan Social Journeys, which has been an awesome adventure. Besides the majestic mountains and amazing scenery, which we have enjoyed along the way, our team (16 people, aged 18-65 years old) has been very well cared for, always felt safe and looked after by our head guide MINGMAR CHHODEN SHERPA and his assistant BINOD. Thank you very much, guys, for the great time we have had on the trek, for all your help, advice, support and encouragement. Mingmar’s knowledge and experience was especially important in making sure that proper acclimatisation was achieved, that our team did not get exhausted and burnt out. His advice on hydration and nutrition helped everyone to maintain good physical form on the trek, as well as his great leadership skills allowed to balance off and account for differences in various fitness levels in our team, so, in the end of each day, everyone got to the destination safe and well. Thank you very much, Mingmar, what a great journey it has been. Thank you, Binod, for all fun time we had walking with your great smile, sense of humour and Nepalese songs. “After recently completeing the EBC trek with my wife and two sons we can suggest if it's what you want to do go for it, you won't be disappointed. Our lead guide Binod was fantastic assisting us with everything including buying essentials in Kathmandu before we started trekking, and his knowledge of the mountains was a fantastic, his two assistant guides Santosh and Mingmah equally awesome but Santosh's sense of humour is outstanding and along with the rest of our group made the experience for my family unforgettable. Everything about the trek exceeded my expectations the scenery, food, accomodation (although basic when you consider where you are on Top of the world), Nepalese people, great guides and porters. Thanks again HSJ for a great time. We cannot praise our guides enough it was because of them that our trip was as amazing and memorable as it was and something we will all treasure.”

“I had a great time doing the trek to EBC with our group of 11 plus the guides Binny, Shanker and our yak man in mid March. Both of them looked after all of us well and provided some good yarns along the way as well as some good games in the evening. They kept our spirits up and were of great help when people were affected by altitude sickness. Would love to come back and wouldn't hesitate to go through Himalayan Social Journey again!”

“My husband and I were part of a group of 12 who undertook the trek to Everest Base Camp in April/May 2017. The journey was everything we imagined and more! From the moment we arrived in Kathmandu we were made to feel welcome by Himalayan Social Journey and had the opportunity to meet some of our fellow trekkers at the airport. A quick transfer to our Hotel ensured we had a room to sleep and instructions for the next day’s cultural tour of Kathmandu. Day 1 entailed experiencing a diverse immersion of Nepalese culture, inclusive of the Monkey summit temple and an historic site where the Nepalese farewell their deceased family and friends by way of ceremonial cremation – Very unique. With a beautiful cultural show and dinner to end the day. Day 2 through to Day 14 was all about the journey to EBC and back. This is what we came for and enjoyed immensely. The dedication, knowledge and commitment of our guide Mingmar Sherpa and his team made it all the more pleasurable, as their willingness to ensure we were looked after had no bounds. Specifically, Mingar’s knowledge of the mountains ensured we were kept focussed on each day as it presented, yet Mingmar also ensured we prepared a few days in advance to ensure we all made it to EBC. His concern for each individual gave you peace of mind that we were on track and his ability to sense any concerns and address these was uncanny – Just another example of how Mingmar and his team used their knowledge, experience and commitment to each and every one of our group. In general, the scenery was spectacular and the chosen track ensured it was challenging yet achievable. There were challenging elements, which you’d expect when trekking at altitude, but again Mingmar Sherpa and his team ensured the group stayed together and the pace was acceptable for all levels of fitness. This also ensured we bonded as a group and helped each other out, which is the Nepalese ethos. The views of Everest and the eventual trek to EBC were equally spectacular, making all the cold nights worthwhile. Sharing this with a loved one, newly made friends and a wonderful guide who went out of his way to make sure we had a great time made it one of the most pleasurable holiday experiences we’ve had. We’d like to acknowledge the Himalayan Social Journey and their guide team, especially Mingmar Sherpa, for looking after us from start to finish – A great experience which we won’t forget in a hurry & would do again in a heart-beat!”
