Hsj is an excellent company right from booking to arrival they communicated effectively.Our guide was amazing.He had knowledge of everything in the mountains.He choose great place to stay and made sure the tour was as easy as possible.I would like to highly recommend hsj to anyone willing to go for trek in Nepal,its a once in a life time experience.”

“If you are going to EBC, you need to book with Himalayan Social Journey and trek with Mingmar Sherpa. HSJ takes good care of all the logistics and Mingmar is the person you want to be your mountain guide. He preps you each night for next day’s trek, taking great care of everyone in the group, making sure everyone is well taken care of and our group were all able to make it to EBC because of Mingmar. I also toured Bhutan through HSJ and had the best of time as well.”

“This is the second time I have had the pleasure of organising a trek to Nepal with HSJ. The first time in 2019 my wife and I went to base camp. Mingmar Sherpa was our guide and he was absolutely brilliant in organising everything and looking after my wife when she hot altitude sickness. At short notice he got her a helicopter down to Lukla and then back to Kathmandu. After the trek he continued to check in with us making sure we had everything we needed. I rebooked to go back in 2020 with my daughter but due to COVID it was postponed until Nov 2022. HSJ, in particular Rameshwar was fantastic to deal with. He was very attentive to my many changes in schedule and organised all aspects of my trip - which went ahead without any interruptions. Once again I had Mingmar Sherpa as our guide. We got such a warm welcome at the airport, it was like greeting an old friend. Mingmar looked after us for the whole trek. He and his team work so hard in looking after everyones needs. My daughter got a bit sick after the trip. Mingmar vositied us at our hotel to check in and even offered to go to a pharmacy to get medicine - absolutely fantastic and caring. I'm going back again in 2024 - doing Annapurna this time again with my daughter. I will definitely be going through HSJ and with luck I will have Mingmar as my guide. If you've ever dreamt about going to base camp - just do it and go with HSJ - you will not be disappointed. Make sure you ask Rameshwar to book Mingmar as your guide.”

“Recently completed the Everest Base Camp Trek with Mingmar and Deepak and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I struggled with altitude sickness (shortness of breath and loss of appetite) but the guides were very knowledgeable to the subject and helped me overcome it. I reached EBC with no problem. Furthermore, the guides were very flexible to change of plans as we decided halfway through that we wanted to take the helicopter down instead of hiking back down and they made this change seamlessly. Thank you HSJ for helping me achieve my goals to reach EBC safely!”

“I recently completed by EBC Trek with Himalayan Social Journey in May 2023 and I would 100% recommend this company! 1. They are very flexible as a company, from allowing me to use my deposit from 3 years ago to allowing me to change plans mid-hike by being brought back to Lukla using helicopter instead of the initial plan to hike back down. 2. The guides Deepak and Mingmar had been very helpful and knowledgable. Each time we go to a teahouse, they ensure that we have our meals ordered and delivered to our tables, and helped with payments. They also ensure we always had a place to stay even when it was not planned. 3. The accommodation included in the package in Kathmandu was very nice (Himalayan Suite). It was worth the price.”

“I've recently wrapped up a 13-day trek to the Everest Base Camp, and despite initial anxieties, our guide, Mîngmår Šhërpā, was instrumental in calming our nerves and facilitating a smooth journey. His deep knowledge of the area, owing to his local origins, enabled him to address and organize any requests from our group promptly. I have no doubt that more issues may have surfaced along the way, but Mîngmår Šhërpā's composed demeanor and proficient management made sure we were oblivious to them, allowing us to remain relaxed throughout the trek. I am grateful for his unwavering support that helped me reach the base camp successfully.”

“Himalayan social journey were amazing. From our guide Mingmar and our porters, to the support back in Kathmandu whilst on the trek. Mingmar is an incredible guide that supported me the whole way. When i became sick he checked in regularly to ensure I was in the best health possible. His support and guidance got me to base camp. I ultimately was airlifted out and Mingmar organised everything from the helicopter to hospital, booking accommodation and flights back to Kathmandu. Himalayan social journey contacted my travel insurance company so all i needed to do was send in invoices and receipts. I will 100% book with these guys again”

“Very well organised tour with the ability to change at short notice. Our guides Mingmar and Deepak had excellent knowledge and experience to look after us all very well. While I was unable to complete the trek and struggled the last few days Mingmar in particular was very patient and stayed with me and my partner despite my very slow pace, and very quickly arranged a helicopter to get me back down on the second last day. Can thoroughly recommend this tour company.”

“Went for Ebc trek on 20 sept 2023 , the entire trek was amazing with breathtaking views, our guides Santosh and dinesh. Santosh- is an amazing guide with lots of knowledge about Himalayas and mountaineering , certain paths we saw alternate routes but Santosh ran ahead of us to check if it’s even safe for us to take, I said he ran at altitude of 4000m and above , for us breathing itself was a tough task, but he ran, can see he is right one to guide you through this trek. I kept asking him the names of the mountains he was able to answer me all, he knew how to keep the group Close knit and was extremely patient to our group trekkers who need more time to reach tea houses. Highly recommended guide! Dinesh- (who is also an ex chef) he is more local guide and knows all the trekking route by heart , he went extra mile to make sure all the trekkers were safe, and sound at all times , has amazing navigation skills. There was an incident where one of the yaks slipped of the trekking route and fell in the bushes and dinesh even went down to rescue the yak, shows care and concern for both human and animals . Also during trek many people in our group were affected with high altitude so emotions were flowing out and some people even shouted at him for being slightly faster at the start, but he stayed calm and never let his anger or emotions Come out. That’s how a true guide should be . Not to forget our porter (kanchi ahma) she is strongest and bravest lady I have ever met, she single handedly carried 10-15 kgs of duffel bags without any pain or complaints, she made sure our duffel bags reached earlier than us waiting at tea house before we reached , she was the fastest among all of us ! Superwomen! And 5 yaks who carried our groups bags to Ebc and back , so grateful to all of you. Without you we will suffer and might not even reach Ebc if we had to carry the duffel bags ourselves . Overall an amazing trek , unforgettable memories created , and super tempted to do summits now.”
